Welcome to 2017!

How are you all going? Surviving the Melbourne heat wave and now some really nice summer weather! I don't mind the heat too much in the day time, but I do wish it would cool off at night so I could get some sleep.

Did you know it was National Papercrafting Month?

Welcome Home Wreath
Yes, every January, we celebrate National Papercrafting Month as a way of acknowledging the pure joy of playing with paper! We scrapbook with it, we make cards with it, we decorate with it—in short, we craft with it!
This year, we’re celebrating the joys of paper-crafted home décor with the beautiful Welcome Home wreath kit. This kit comes with pre-cut pieces you can simply pop out and attach to the sturdy chipboard wreath base, making a welcoming décor piece for your home.

There are four ways you can get the wreath kit:

  1. Buy it for $28.50—no qualifying purchase required!
  2. Get it for free with a qualifying $90 purchase!*
  3. Get it for free by hosting a party that reaches the second level of Hostess Rewards.
  4. Get it for free when you sign up to be a Consultant!
No matter how you get your Welcome Home wreath kit—or how many you get—you are going to love how easy this kit makes it to add a little more paper crafted beauty to your life.
And as we are the "Let me show you how" company, I am going to show you how i created my Wreath.

The kit comes with a fantastic picture to copy, (especially good for those of us who are picture orientated) as well as instructions on the reverse side. each leaf, flower and petal has been pre perforated ready for you to just pop out.

If you would like to add a little colour to your white flowers or to any of the leaves/petals, then it is best to use your inks and daubers now before you pop the out. And it really does not matter how bad you are at using your daubers, once it is all put together it will look amazing!

Each flower is in its own box on the sheet. So it is best to pop one flower out and then put it together with liquid glass. Start with the biggest petals and slowly work your way up to the smallest ones. I moved them around to see what I liked best before the glue had set! Then popped out the next on and made it.

While the flowers were drying I popped out the white/pink/purple roses, gently wound them up and glued them. I then used the quilling tool to gently turn the outer rose petals out. This gave a really natural look to the rose. While that was drying, I popped all the other greenery out and glued the wooden paper circle to the sturdy base. Then glued the roses to the base.

Next I folded each of the blue petals in half. This is when the flat item really started to come alive. And I used the quilling tool to curl up the end of the succulents! It was amazing to see how effective a couple of steps can be.

Now it is really getting exciting, with putting the wreath together. The instructions say to put all the green pieces down first. But other consultants found that putting the flowers on first was better. So I put all the flowers on and then I added the green and gold leaves. Oh this was so much fun watching it all come together. Now what to put on the ribbon?

Welcome seemed to be the best way to start the new year! When you come to crops in my garage this will be on the door. Although it took nearly 3 hours to complete, it was so easy. And I had so much fun playing with each of the pieces!! Now remember, this wreath is only available while stocks last, for the month of January!!

I look forward to seeing what you create with your wreaths

Happy Scrapping,

Cindy
